Shelley R.
Hepatitis C
Shelley is a Technology Manager for TD Bank in Mount Laurel, NJ. Shelley is a lifelong South Jersey resident who has been and American Liver Foundation supporter since her Hepatitis C diagnosis in 2009. Through sheer luck, Shelley was diagnosed before experiencing any symptoms. After giving blood for the first time, it was discovered that she had an active Hepatitis C infection, likely as a result of transfusions when she was born. A liver biopsy revealed inflammation, but thankfully no cirrhosis! Shelley’s first round of treatment with Ribavirin and Pegasys failed in 2010. She is happy to report that her second attempt at treatment with Olysio and Sovaldi, which was completed in December 2014, was successful, and she is now Hep C Free!
Shelley is a member of the American Liver Foundation’s National Patient Advisory Committee for Hepatitis C.
