Our Mission

ALF promotes education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease. ALF Mid-Atlantic provides a wide variety of these services including information and referral, education programs, support groups, exciting fundraising events, and an array of volunteer opportunities.

Support groups provide a place for individuals affected by a similar condition or circumstance to provide and receive support and share their experiences.

Not all support groups are facilitated by a medical professional. Some support groups are facilitated by 3rd party organizations and individuals in this region.

Philadelphia Hepatitis Outreach Project (P-HOP) conducts community-based hepatitis prevention education, screening, testing and linkage to medical care and support services. Outreach services are implemented in substance abuse treatment and public housing facilities, HIV early intervention programs, homeless shelters among others.

HepCap

HepCAP is a coalition of doctors, people living with hep C, community agencies, civil servants, and concerned Philadelphians. They are dedicated to improving hepatitis C support services in Philadelphia, and work together to develop projects that close the gaps in local hep C services. Please visit their website here.
