Coleman Smith, MD, FRACP, FAASLD, is a hepatologist at the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute in Washington, DC, and Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He has over 30 years of experience in hepatology and has been involved in many clinical research projects in liver disease. In particular, many of his research activities have been in the area of Hepatitis B and C and most recently was a member of the NIH funded Hepatitis B Research Network. Many of these research projects have resulted in an extensive list of publications. Dr Smith is currently very active in clinical hepatology practice and continuing with a variety of research projects. He has served as an active member of the American Liver Foundation National Medical Advisors for many years.
