Sharon M.
Autoimmune Hepatitis
I have been living with AIH and PBS for almost 20 years. I was diagnosed after being in extreme pain and no energy.
They kept sending a psychiatrist in to see me because they thought I was just under a lot of stress. I was a counselor at the time. After many blood tests etc my doctor remembered that my aunt had been diagnosed the year before with AIH and ran liver function tests on me and found my tests were high. I am on azathioprine and ursodial now to control the symptoms.
I walk and workout, changed my diet and drink lots of water and keep a positive attitude and maybe once a year I have a flare up. I find my stress level really has an impact on my flare ups.
I quit drinking soda 2 years ago.
