Mind-Body Workshops
Living with a chronic disease requires regular engagement in healthcare but all too often the focus is on treating the diagnosis and physical symptoms, with little attention paid to someone’s emotional and mental well-being.
The American Liver Foundation regularly conducts Mind-Body workshops for people living with liver disease. Born out of a partnership with the PBC Foundation and Robert Mitchell-Thain who trained ALF staff and patient advocates in mind-body techniques.
This fall we are conducting a series of Mind-Body programs which seeks to break down the concept of mindfulness, explain how and why capitalizing on the mind-body connection is beneficial to patients, and provide tools for self-care and techniques for physical and emotional self-management.
