For International NASH Day, We’re Sounding the Alarm on a Silent Epidemic
Today is International #NASHDay, a national day of awareness for Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis and an opportunity to bring to light the public health threat posed by both Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD).
The American Liver Foundation stands united with other top global liver health agencies in our efforts, and worked as a coalition to author a statement in Nature Reviews Gastroenterology and Hepatology to help “sound the alarm” to patient, caregiver, and medical communities, and to help shape and deliver a comprehensive, long-term public health agenda for NAFLD.
Please read the statement below, and join us in helping to draw attention this this prevalent, yet often under addressed disease. We also ask you to take our NASH risk assessment quiz and start a conversation with your doctor as part of our new NASHional Conversation campaign, and learn all about the condition by visiting our NASH Resource Center.
